Tried out a new place last week.
Actually this new cafe/bistro isn't really that new, cos its the 2nd establishment of the people behind the Hospoda Microbrewery at Albert Court. Yes you heard me right, there's actually a brewery in Bugis area!
The bistro got their name from this:
A growler is a jug used to transport draft beer in other countries. It is not as common in Singapore for you know, we don't drink as much as Caucasians do, haha.
Growlers Craft Beer and Bistro actually brew their own beer, so this place is highly recommend for beer drinkers. I don't know about you, but the fact that the beer was made in a local microbrewery sounds cool already?
I tried their Bohemian Pilsner. It is light and goes down very well. However, do not be fooled by how light it tastes on your palette cos the alcohol content will make you drunk in no time.
Beer Battered Fish and Chips $18
They use their own locally brewed beer for the batter. Dip it in the homemade tartar sauce for more taste if you are kinda like me, who likes stronger flavours in food.

Ambience was good - the semi bright/dark lighting makes a good setting for casual drinking sessions, over some good bar snacks.
This is the soft launch menu, so the team will be adding more to their food offerings in time to come.
In the mean time, I really encourage my friends who love drinking to support this bistro for some locally brewed beer!
